Festival of the Senses Presents ‘A Brass Band Christmas’ with the Natural State Brass Band on Friday, December 5
Festival of the Senses, the unique North Little Rock performing arts series created in 2011, will present the Natural State Brass Band in “A Brass Band Christmas” at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 4106 JFK Boulevard, on Friday, December 5, at 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. A reception with food and drink in the Parish Hall will follow the performance.
The band’s 2025 Christmas concert program is as follows: “City of David” by Philip Rayment; “O Holy Night” by Adolphe Charles Adam, arranged by Tom Kubis; “The Message of Christmas” by William Himes; “Candlelight Carol” by John Rutter, arranged by Chris Mallet; “Frosty the Snowman” by Steve Nelson and Jack Rollins, arranged by Sandy Smith; “The Snowman” by Howard Blake, arranged by Philip Sparke; “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,” poem by Clement Moore, music by Anthony DiLorenzo, arranged by Michael Green; “A Christmas Finale” by Paul Lovatt-Cooper; “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” traditional English carol, arranged by John Rutter. *Dave Woodman* will narrate.
Musicians from all over Arkansas make up the Natural State Brass Band, a 33-member British style brass and percussion band formed in Little Rock in 2003. Conducted by Henderson State University Band Director Nevada Mills, the ensemble performs a varied repertoire from all points of the musical compass. In addition to appearances throughout Arkansas and in other states, the band toured the United Kingdom and played at the British National Brass Band Championships in June 2010
